A little bit about the artist
Hello, my Name is Nicole Leah, and I have been reborning and newborning since 2010.
I have always been artistic, and chose to study art in the forms of modelling, painting and sketching all the way through school, until I went to college, but even then I couldn't leave it behind! That was when I discovered the art of reborning!
I owned two Ashton Drake 'realistic baby dolls'. I was so excited to get them, and I remember my disappointment when they arrived. Both had looked so incredibly real on the computer but looking at them in the box, they were nowhere near as good! Their hair was glued on and their nails painted orange- factory painted I might add- with brilliant white tips, their creases were so pink they looked like gashes! I still loved those dolls though, and they were still collectible. The thing I loved most was being able to dress them in different outfits... but they were just too light to feel real!
Eventually they got put away, but after sorting through some old things, I uncovered them. At this point I had seen reborn babies on the internet, and decided that if I were to sell these dolls, I would like to make them better, to make someone else happier than I had been with them.
I spent months gathering my materials and studying the complexions and detailing on babies and children I knew as well as on photos I had found through Google, I spent he next few weeks practicing, and in December 2010 I finally sold my first baby. I received a handwritten note telling me how happy the new mommy was with her new reborn baby shortly after and became addicted to the feeling it gave me!
I enjoy creating each and every one of my babies and love to see as each one comes to life! It is my personal goal to try to make each one better than the last, and because of this I always strive to find any new techniques to aid this process.
Every one of my babies is made to look as realistic as possible and I hope that you think that they're all as beautiful as I do!
